Attackers contained with the hep of coast guard
Violent refugees and migrants attacked Greek police with axes, stones and beams at the hotspot of Leros, Thursday evening. Police responded by using light and sound grenades in an effort to to contain the situation, but the large number of attackers forced police to retreat to the coast guard base on the Aegean island. The attackers were finally repelled after the coast guard units combined with police officers managed to beat the refuges back. Leros hotspot hosts over 650 migrants and refugees, mainly of Pakistani and Afghani origin.
